Bob Mazzer

Published by Spitalfields Life in Hardback (£20) on 12-06-2014

“Every day, I travelled to Kings Cross and back. Coming home late at night, it was like a party and I felt the tube was mine and I was there to take pictures.” Bob Mazzer

While working as projectionist in a porn cinema in the eighties, Bob Mazzer began photographing on the tube during his daily commute, creating irresistibly joyous pictures alive with humour and humanity. Born in Aldgate in 1946, Bob received his first camera as a Bar Mitzvah present at the age of thirteen. He has pursued photography as his lifetime’s passion, yet only now is his distinctive personal vision of London is reaching the public eye for the first time. These vibrant photos caused an internet sensation when published on the Spitalfields Life blog last year. They are now available in print for the very first time in a handsome hardback edition.
